Promiches and INFOTEP are making a regional effort to fill more than 60 vacancies in the hotel sector in Miches

The El Seibo-Miches Hotel and Tourism Association (Promiches) and the National Institute of Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP) will be receiving documents this coming Sunday, July 7th, to create a database to fill vacancies for more than 60 sub-administrative level profiles in the hotel sector of the emerging destination in the East of the Dominican Republic, according to information gathered by Infotur Dominicano.

We recall that Promiches signed an agreement with the Dominican Government in 2021, committing to the development of six hotels that will provide some 3,000 rooms with an investment of US$1 billion, and three years later some results of this agreement are already visible with the current operation of two hotels, such as the Club Med Miches and the Sunrise Miches Beach Resort by Marriott, which together operate more than 800 rooms.
In Miches, four hotels are under construction: Zemí Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton, Viva Miches, Dreams & Secrets Playa Esmeralda and Four Seasons Dominican Republic by Tropicalia, and the pre-sale of the largest tourism project in the area: Maralda. Promiches projects that more than 2,000 direct jobs will be generated in the next 5 months.

In this way, the impact of job creation and economic revitalization will be regional and even have a national reach with the companies that supply services, food and all the elements that a hotel requires for its operations, so Promiches is working with INFOTEP to train the people that the hotels require, as Infotur Dominicano was able to learn.

Both Promiches and INFOTEP have identified the economic and social development impact for the fifth poorest province in the country with a very important socio-economic transformation projection, and they are working to ensure that these job opportunities remain in the region.

Part of this recruitment process involves identifying the required profiles and then identifying those already trained in these areas within the communities of Miches, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, El Valle, and Sabana de la Mar, because the impact of an investment of this magnitude will extend beyond Miches. Subsequently, a pool of available profiles is created based on these findings, and the final step in this phase is to train those needed to fill the available positions, with support from the Vocational Schools of the Armed Forces and the National Police.

This is a great opportunity for those seeking employment in the hotel industry in Miches. Therefore, it is necessary to attend with the required documents, which are shown in the accompanying images. These images also indicate the locations where applicants should arrive between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

This effort falls under the Technical and Higher Education for Inclusion component of Promiches’ Work Plan and the working agreement with INFOTEP. Together, they are driving development and opportunities in the community.
