Promiches Highlights Miches’ Progress and Outlook at FITUR 2026

Madrid, Spain. — The directors of the El Seibo–Miches Hotel and Tourism Association Promiches are participating in FITUR 2026, representing the Miches destination before the international tourism market and consolidating its position as one of the strongest emerging hubs in the Caribbean in terms of sustainable luxury tourism and responsible investment.
As part of the official agenda of the fair, Promiches participated in the breakfast “Advances and Investment Opportunities in the Dominican Republic”, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, a strategic space to present the growth of the destination, its evolution as a sustainable luxury tourism offer and the natural riches that distinguish Miches within the national tourism portfolio.
During his speech, the president of Promiches, William Phelan, highlighted that the development that Miches exhibits today is the result of a shared vision and coordinated work between the public and private sectors.
“What you see today is possible thanks to the Public-Private Agreement for the Tourism Development of Miches, a commitment that has guaranteed key infrastructure such as the aqueduct for the tourist area and the Management and Conservation Plan for Playa Esmeralda,” said Phelan.
He also emphasized that Miches has gone from being a promise to becoming a tangible reality within the Dominican tourist map.
“Today, Miches is a destination that transcends promises. We are talking about a private investment exceeding $1 billion. This capital translates not only into infrastructure, but also into social well-being: more than 20,000 operational hotel jobs and a total exceeding 3,000 hotel rooms in operation.”
In that same setting, the president of Promiches extended a direct invitation to investors and strategic partners, highlighting the opportunity to be part of a development model aligned with sustainability and long-term value.
Within the framework of FITUR 2026, significant projects were announced that will strengthen the tourism offerings of the Miches destination. These include Paradisus Miches, with 600 rooms; Miches Grand Resort, a development spanning over 2 million square meters; a JW Marriott and an Autograph Collection hotel, together comprising 650 rooms; and the Miches City Center project. These projects represent a combined investment exceeding USD 1.85 billion. These advancements reflect the collaborative work between Promiches and the Ministry of Tourism, consolidating a shared vision for the orderly, sustainable, and competitive tourism development of Miches, preserving its natural essence and positioning it as a world-class destination.
